GeorgiaTEK Systems Inc. seeks an experienced IBM iSeries (AS/400) Infrastructure Administrator – L3 in Bogotá, LATAM. You will lead enterprise IBM i administration, optimize performance, and handle complex recovery, security, and upgrade activities across HMC, LPARs, VIOS, and tape/VTL environments.

Responsibilities include designing DR/HA, managing backups (BRMS), and coordinating with IBM and vendors. Strong leadership to mentor L1/L2 teams and ensure best practices across the stack.

Formación

• Must have 5+ years IBM i / AS400 Infrastructure Administration experience.
• Expertise in HMC and LPAR administration is required.
• Strong VIOS administration and IBM i OS tuning capabilities.
• Experience with IBM Power Systems firmware and upgrades.
• BRMS backup and recovery planning and execution.
• HA/DR design, implementation, and testing experience.
• Proven performance tuning and capacity planning for IBM i environments.
• Storage, SAN, IFS knowledge and troubleshooting skills.
• Security management for IBM i including SSL/SSH and audits.
• PTF management and OS upgrades for IBM i systems.

IBM iSeries (AS/400) Infrastructure Administrator – L3

Location: Bogotá, LATAM

Duration: Long Term

Key Responsibilities

• Lead administration, optimization, troubleshooting, and L3 escalation for enterprise IBM i environments.
• Perform advanced performance tuning, system assessments, capacity planning, and root-cause analysis.
• Design and administer HMC, IBM Power Systems, LPARs, and VIOS environments.
• Manage VIOS Virtual SCSI, NPIV, Virtual Ethernet, SEA, SAN connectivity, and LPAR disk allocation.
• Design and maintain BRMS backup/recovery strategies and lead complex recovery activities.
• Design, administer, and test HA/DR environments, including failover/failback and RPO/RTO validation.
• Lead IBM i security, including access controls, SSL/digital certificates, SSH, secure key management, audits, and vulnerability remediation.
• Engineer storage, IFS, SAN connectivity, disk balancing, expansion, and performance optimization.
• Design and troubleshoot IBM i TCP/IP networking and infrastructure connectivity.
• Administer Advanced Job Scheduler and optimize production workloads.
• Lead IBM i OS upgrades, PTF management, HMC/VIOS upgrades, and IBM Power firmware upgrades.
• Validate compatibility across Power firmware, HMC, VIOS, and IBM i OS levels.
• Administer enterprise tape libraries, VTLs, Virtual Media Library, and backup devices.
• Coordinate complex technical issues with IBM and third-party vendors.
• Mentor L1/L2 teams and establish operational standards, procedures, and best practices.
• Lead infrastructure improvement, architecture reviews, maintenance, migration, and DR initiatives.
