WSP en Colombia seeks a Protection & Control Engineer – Hydro & Dams to join our multidisciplinary team. You will analyze, design, and implement protection and control systems for hydroelectric, dam, and water infrastructure projects across project lifecycles.

The ideal candidate has 6 to 9 years of experience in electrical engineering with a strong background in protection and control. Advanced English and French language proficiency are required for global projects and stakeholders.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related discipline.
• Master's in electrical/Power Systems is an asset.
• Professional Engineer designation or eligibility preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Design protection and control systems for hydroelectric facilities, dams, substations, and associated infrastructure.
• Develop protection philosophies, relay settings, schemes, and control strategies.
• Prepare engineering studies, diagrams, wiring, and relay documentation.
• Perform protection coordination, short-circuit, and arc flash analyses.
• Review designs for codes, standards, and best practices.
• Support integration with SCADA, automation, and monitoring systems.
• Participate in FAT/SAT, commissioning, and energization activities.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams across disciplines.
• Review vendor documentation and provide technical guidance.
• Support dam safety and modernization projects.
• Prepare technical reports and client presentations.
• Participate in planning, budgeting, scheduling, and risk management.
