Roca Alliances, a specialized recruitment firm for the tech sector, is seeking a Software Engineer for Upshop, a SaaS platform transforming fresh food operations. The role focuses on designing and building secure, scalable applications using C#/.NET Core, Azure, and AI-assisted tooling in an Agile team.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, own end-to-end development, and contribute to rapid delivery of features for retailers, with an in-office setup in Medellín.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience.
• Experience with frontend frameworks such as Angular.
• End-to-end development across UI, application, and database tiers.
• Strong CS fundamentals: algorithms, data structures, concurrency.
• Proficiency in design patterns and modern software engineering practices.
• Experience with REST API design, security (OAuth2, JWT), and cloud-native architecture.
• Ability to quickly learn new languages, frameworks, and tools.
• Strong English communication skills (verbal and written).

Position Overview:

Upshop is a SaaS platform built to transform fresh food operations for retailers. By unifying inventory management, forecasting, ordering, and omnichannel fulfillment in real time, Upshop makes store operations smarter and more efficient. From planning and preparation to delivery, it helps retailers reduce waste, streamline processes, and improve the way fresh food is managed—

resulting in better efficiency, less waste, and happier customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain secure, high-performance applications using C#/.NET Core, Azure Functions, and Azure services (Cosmos DB, Service Bus, Storage Accounts, API Management).
  
• Apply design patterns, clean architecture principles, and solid computer science fundamentals to build scalable, maintainable solutions.
  
• Actively leverage AI tools for code generation, refactoring, testing, and debugging.
  
• Collaborate with product owners, architects, QA, and DevOps in an Agile environment (two-week sprints).
  
• Participate in code reviews, share knowledge with peers, and mentor junior engineers.
  
• Write unit and integration tests to ensure code quality and maintainability.
  

Requirements

Required Skills & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
  
• Experience with frontend frameworks such as Angular.
  
• Skilled in end-to-end development covering UI, application, and database tiers.
  
• Strong grasp of computer science fundamentals (algorithms, data structures, concurrency).
  
• Proficiency in design patterns and modern software engineering best practices.
  
• Experience with REST API design, security (OAuth2, JWT), and cloud-native architecture.
  
• Ability to quickly learn new programming languages, frameworks, and tools.
  
• Strong English communication skills (verbal and written)
  

Preferred Qualifications

• English certificate that confirms your advanced proficiency on the english level
  
• Experience working with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure or similar) and backend technologies aligned with the mentioned stacks.
  
• Background in grocery, food retail, or similar industries.
  
• Exposure to AI-assisted software development workflows.
  
• Familiarity with microservices architecture, asynchronous programming, and test-driven development.
