FinOps Weekly is seeking an in-house FinOps leader in Medellín to drive cloud cost management and optimization across engineering, product, and finance teams. The role requires managing budgets, analyzing drivers, and delivering measurable savings while aligning with business priorities.

You will oversee dashboards, AI-enabled analysis, and cross-functional collaboration to turn cost data into actionable strategies, reporting to leadership with clear recommendations.

About the Role

This in-house FinOps leadership role is responsible for improving how the company plans, monitors, analyzes, and optimizes cloud expenditure. The position connects cloud usage, technical priorities, product requirements, and financial ownership. You will work with DevOps, AI Lab, R&D, Platform, Product, Finance, Business, and leadership teams. The role focuses on turning cloud cost analysis into measurable optimization initiatives and supporting informed technical and business decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Own budget planning, forecasting, tracking, monitoring, and financial analysis for cloud investments.
• Analyze cloud usage and cost drivers in partnership with technical, product, finance, and business stakeholders.
• Develop and communicate cloud cost metrics, dashboards, and actionable insights.
• Identify, prioritize, and lead cost-efficiency initiatives from analysis through implementation.
• Track optimization outcomes and measure the impact of savings initiatives.
• Align cloud spending with product needs, technical priorities, and business objectives.
• Influence stakeholders across the organization without formal authority.

Required Skills

• Hands-on experience in an internal FinOps, cloud cost management, or cloud financial operations role.
• Direct ownership of cloud spend optimization from analysis through execution.
• Strong analytical ability and a technically oriented approach to researching, analyzing, and visualizing cloud cost and usage data.
• Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills across technical teams, finance, product leadership, and executives.
• Ability to use AI tools and automation to accelerate analysis, improve reporting, identify optimization opportunities, and scale FinOps activities.
• Proactive and independent approach, with the ability to work through ambiguity, learn quickly, collaborate effectively, and maintain ownership through delivery.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
