Job summary

Arup in Bogota, Colombia invites energetic engineering students for a six-month Energy Specialist Intern role. You will assist design and analysis of decarbonized energy systems across wind, solar, hydro, storage and green hydrogen projects, learning from experts.

This internship offers hands-on technical and financial due diligence exposure, collaboration with consultants, and market research opportunities. The hybrid work model supports flexibility while contributing to a sustainable future.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical, Mechatronics, energy systems or related discipline.
• English proficiency at B2+ and resume in English.
• Eligibility to work in Colombia without employer sponsorship now or in future.
• Enrollment at one of the specified Colombian universities listed in the posting.

Responsibilities

• Assist design and analysis of decarbonized energy systems (renewables, storage, green hydrogen, BESS).
• Analyze energy storage systems including green hydrogen production and storage.
• Perform technical analysis of energy systems and transmission & distribution infrastructure.
• Conduct financial and commercial analysis from a technical perspective.
• Participate in technical and commercial due diligence for infrastructure assets.
• Analyze risks such as cost, schedule, design, contracts, permitting and environmental impact.
• Interact with consultants for planning, financial advisory, and due diligence tasks.
• Conduct market research across infrastructure sectors and present findings to leadership.
