ScotiaTech, the technology hub for Scotiabank in Bogota, seeks a DevOps Specialist to liaise between business stakeholders and internal engineering and architect teams, ensuring solutions are developed and delivered on time, efficiently and with high quality for various projects within GBME.

The role requires 4+ years of cross-team experience, strong Linux and automation skills, and hands-on work with CI/CD, Ansible, Puppet and Docker in a financial environment.

Formación

• 4+ years practical experience across multiple teams and functions.
• Minimum 4 years’ working knowledge of databases such as SQL Server, with ability to create and run queries independently.
• Experience with SDLC and automation to streamline development and deployment.
• Proficient in Python or Java to automate tasks and create tools.

Responsabilidades

• Perform ad hoc work with GBME teams to maintain and upgrade software components.
• Collaborate with system owners to gather requirements and conduct gap analyses.
• Remediate code vulnerabilities and implement production-quality code.
• Design test sets and automate functional and non-functional tests.
• Refactor legacy code as needed and participate in daily stand-ups.

Purpose

GBME is searching for DevOps Specialist to liaison between business stakeholders and internal engineering and architect teams, ensuring solutions are developed and delivered on time, efficiently and with high quality for various projects within GBME.

Accountabilities

• Perform ad hoc work as needed partner with peer engineers and various GBME teams for maintaining and upgrading software components.
• Work closely with system owners to understand requirements from end of life, compliance standpoint, conduct gap analysis and requirements assessments as needed
• Be involved in remediating code vulnerabilities (code or library reference), responsible for producing actionable and complete specifications, writing production quality code, and implementation.
• Design test sets and automate where possible, including functional and non-functional testing, regression testing as well as performance testing
• Able to work with and refactor legacy code (as needed).
• Participate in daily stand-ups .

Education / Experience

• Experience working across multiple teams and functions to ensure alignment.
• 4+ years practical experience and financial knowledge.
• Keen attention to detail for in-depth diagnostics and analysis of software behaviors.
• Minimum 4 years’ working knowledge of databases such as SQL Server, with ability to create and run queries independently.
• Experience working with all phases of SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle).
• EOL Software Support analyst must be proficient in programming languages like Python or Java to automate tasks and create tools to streamline development and deployment.
• Scripting languages like Bash, Shell are crucial for writing automation scripts for system administration tasks.
• EOL Software Support analyst should understand Linux fundamentals, including file systems, permissions, package management, and command-line utilities. Proficiency in Linux helps in managing server environments efficiently.
• Infrastructure management involves provisioning, configuring, and maintaining servers and networking components. Experience in Tools like Ansible, Puppet for automating infrastructure management tasks.
• Ability to adapt quickly to new processes and standards, with a strong commitment to providing exceptional customer service.
• Proven ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications and deliver working results.
• Skills in automating IT tasks like configuration management, app deployment, and orchestration using Ansible playbooks, roles, and modules to streamline operations, reduce manual work, and integrate with CI/CD pipelines
• Proficient in user management, software installation, and system monitoring.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• A recognized undergraduate degree or diploma in business administration, computer science or related field required.
• Proficient in using Git to track changes, merge code, and manage code repositories effectively.
• Excellent working experience of Microsoft suite of products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project).

Preferred Qualifications

• An understanding of the Bank’s application system and software from a business/technical viewpoint is required to assess the impact of development and/or changes to the overall data processing environment).
• Experience managing projects that span change in front, middle or back-office systems and teams.
• Experience with but not limited to PL/SQL, SQL Loader, UNIX Tools, shell scripting (Bash, Perl, Python), JAVA, XML, HTML, is an asset.
• Docker: Package applications and dependencies into containers.
