Global Technology Services, based in Medellín, Colombia, is seeking a Senior Database Administrator to manage and optimize enterprise database platforms across multiple environments. You will work with internal and external teams to ensure high availability, performance, and security of critical data assets.

The role requires 5–7 years of DBA experience, a strong background in SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, and PostgreSQL, and the ability to handle on-call rotations.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field preferred.
• 5–7 years of enterprise database administration experience.
• Strong knowledge of relational databases and SQL Server administration.
• Experience with multiple DB environments (SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL).
• Experience with backup, recovery, high availability, and DR solutions.

Responsabilidades

• Monitor, support, install, configure, and operate enterprise database platforms.
• Maintain database assets, applications, and services as part of Technology Services Team.
• Collaborate with internal and external support teams to ensure DB performance and reliability.
• Handle on-call weekend rotation once every 3 weeks.

What you will be doing:

Works in conjunction with the internal and external support teams and shares responsibility for
the monitoring, support, installation, configuration, database management, and operation of
enterprise database platforms for the client. Works as part of the Technology Services Team to
maintain all database related assets, applications, and services

Required Skills & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field preferred.
• Industry certifications will be considered along with experience for non-degreed candidates.
• 5 – 7 years of experience providing enterprise database administration services.
• Strong working knowledge of relational database concepts and architecture.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server administration and management.
• Experience supporting multiple database environments including SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and cloud-native database platforms.
• Experience configuring, maintaining, troubleshooting, and supporting transactional SQL replication.
• Experience with query tuning, execution plan analysis, indexing strategies, and performance optimization.
• Experience implementing and maintaining backup, recovery, high availability, and disaster recovery solutions.
• Working knowledge of database security, encryption, auditing, and access controls.
• Experience with database monitoring and performance management tools.
• Open to on-call weekend rotation once every 3 weeks.
