Stefanini LATAM in Bogotá seeks a Senior Database Administrator (DBA) with 4-5 years of hands-on experience to design, implement, tune, and maintain relational databases that support core applications in a hybrid setup in Colombia.

You will collaborate with development, security, and operations teams to ensure data reliability, security, and optimal performance, while managing backups, DR, and automation, and participating in on-call incidents.

Formación

• 4-5 years of experience as a Database Administrator in a production environment.
• English proficiency at C1 level for global communication.
• Hands-on experience with two or more major RDBMS and performance tuning.

Responsabilidades

• Design, install, configure, and maintain relational database systems (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server).
• Monitor performance, tune queries, and implement backup, recovery, and DR strategies.
• Ensure DB security via RBAC, encryption, and audits; plan capacity and scaling.
• Develop and maintain DB scripts, automation, and documentation.
• Collaborate with developers to optimize queries and support releases.
• Participate in on-call rotation and provide 24/7 incident response.

We are seeking a Senior Database Administrator (DBA) with 4-5 years of hands-on experience to join the infrastructure team on a hybrid basis in Colombia. The DBA will be responsible for the design, implementation, performance tuning , and ongoing maintenance of critical relational databases that support the company’s core applications and services. This role reports to the Lead Infrastructure Engineer and works closely with development, security , and operations teams to ensure data reliability, security, and optimal performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, install, configure, and maintain relational database systems (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server).
• Monitor database performance, conduct tuning, and resolve bottlenecks to meet SLA targets. Implement and manage backup, recovery, and disaster-recovery strategies.
• Ensure database security through role-based access control, encryption, and regular audits. Perform capacity planning and scaling activities to support growth.
• Develop and maintain database scripts, automation, and documentation.
• Collaborate with application developers to optimize queries and support release cycles.
• Participate in on-call rotation and provide 24/7 incident response when needed. Stay current with emerging database technologies and recommend improvements.

Job Requirements

• 4-5 years of professional experience as a Database Administrator in a production environment. Advanced English proficiency (C1) for clear communication with global teams.
• Strong expertise in at least two major RDBMS (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server). Proven track record in performance tuning, query optimization, and indexing strategies.
• Hands-on experience with backup, recovery, and high-availability solutions.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation.
• Experience with cloud-based database services (AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database, Google Cloud SQL).
