Job summary

Remote Staffing International SAS is seeking an Automation Engineer to develop and maintain automated Playwright tests for web apps. This contractor role runs through December 2026, with the possibility of extension into 2027.

You will convert manual tests to automated Playwright scripts, expand page objects, and collaborate with QA/engineering to improve coverage and reliability in CI environments.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience developing UI automated tests using Playwright and TypeScript.
• Experience with an existing automation framework and established conventions.
• Strong debugging skills: flakiness, waits, reliable selectors.
• Experience using AI tools to generate automated tests, with verification/debugging prior to acceptance.
• Ability to work independently, consult docs and code, and ask clear questions when needed.
• Sound judgment in selecting test cases suitable for automation.
• Experience testing web apps; e-commerce experience preferred.
• Experience running automated tests in CI environments; familiarity with AWS-based CI is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Convert manual test cases into automated Playwright tests using a TypeScript framework.
• Build and extend page objects and helper methods per established standards.
• Evaluate manual tests to determine automation value and ROI.
• Develop reliable, stable tests and reduce flakiness.
• Investigate failed tests to distinguish defects from test issues via reports and code changes.
• Use AI tools to improve productivity, then verify output before integration.
• Collaborate with QA and engineering to define test IDs/selectors and gaps in coverage.
• Help reduce automation backlog by prioritizing Highest and High priority tests.
