Job summary

RINA is recruiting for a Colombia Senior Marine Surveyor to work in Colombia within the Latin America Marine Division. This role focuses on applying Rules, Regulations, and industry concepts to ensure survey quality and compliance across classed ships and offshore assets.

The Senior Surveyor will lead survey activities, coordinate schedules, and deliver timely reports while mentoring less experienced staff and maintaining high ethical standards throughout all professional interactions.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Surveyor or minimum 6 years’ experience in engineering or inspection/survey fields with an IACS member Classification Society.
• Understanding of RINA strategic technical positioning in the marine sector.
• Proficiency in English commensurate with classification, statutory certification, and related services.
• Ability to learn RINA Rules, Guides, and related regulations.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and understand shipbuilding practices and operations.
• Experience with either: new building surveys or ship in service surveys.

Responsibilities

• Acts as a professional specialist, applying in-depth knowledge of Rules, Regulations, and industry concepts.
• Conducts routine surveys on classed ships, offshore installations, or marine assets and ensures compliance.
• Plans, schedules, and coordinates phases of surveying work; guides junior surveyors.
• Engages with clients to resolve issues and ensure satisfaction.
• Provides guidance and training to less experienced surveyors.
• Maintains quality, content, consistency, and continuity of survey work.
• Upholds high ethical standards in all professional interactions.
