Job summary

World Bank Group’s IFC unit seeks a Principal Investment Officer to lead Colombia’s infrastructure strategy, drive deal sourcing, and oversee complex transactions. Based in Bogota, the role coordinates with the country team, IBRD and external partners to build a robust portfolio and deliver sustainable development outcomes.

The incumbent will manage a high-performing team, engage with senior government and private partners, and ensure timely execution across subsectors while advancing capacity

Qualifications

• Master's degree in finance, business administration, economics or related field.
• 12–15 years of relevant experience in financial sector with proven sourcing/closing of deals.
• Experience in core infrastructure sectors (energy, water, transport, TMT).
• Project/corporate finance experience in Colombia essential.

Responsibilities

• Lead Colombia infrastructure strategy and business development to build a strong project pipeline.
• Supervise the Colombia infrastructure team and coordinate with country management and IBRD colleagues.
• Oversee transaction execution, portfolio supervision, and client relationship management as needed.
• Mentor junior staff and manage knowledge sharing across the team.
