Audubon Companies in Bogotá invites a Civil/Structural Designer/Drafter to join our design team. You will prepare structural steel drawings, detail and model components, and ensure deliverables meet project standards for active and upcoming work.

The role requires interpreting technical information, coordinating with engineers and drafters, and maintaining accuracy and constructibility while meeting deadlines. English proficiency and knowledge of international standards are valued.

Formación

• Technical degree or equivalent in drafting, structural design, civil engineering, or related field.
• Experience in structural steel drafting, detailing, or design.
• English proficiency to understand technical information and communicate with global teams.
• Strong knowledge of structural steel components and connections.
• Ability to read and interpret structural drawings and specifications.
• Experience with Advance Steel, AutoCAD, Revit, Tekla or similar tools.
• Knowledge of drafting standards, drawing practices and quality control.

Responsabilidades

Audubon is currently looking for a Civil/Structural Designer/Drafter to join our design team at our Bogotá Office and support active and upcoming projects within the civil and structural discipline.

This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with strong knowledge of structural steel detailing, modeling, and drafting. The candidate should be able to interpret technical information, understand structural concepts, follow company and client standards, and actively participate in technical discussions with engineers, designers, and project teams.

We are especially looking for candidates who can understand the technical requirements of a project, identify potential issues, ask relevant questions, and develop accurate and constructible deliverables.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Preparing, developing, and updating structural steel drawings and deliverables.
• Detailing and modeling structural steel components, including platforms, stairs, ladders, handrails, supports, frames, and miscellaneous steel.
• Interpreting engineering documents, design criteria, specifications, sketches, and markups.
• Reviewing structural models and drawings to identify inconsistencies, interferences, and constructability concerns.
• Applying company, client, and project drafting standards to all deliverables.
• Preparing plans, sections, elevations, details, schedules, and material take-offs as required.
• Coordinating with engineers, designers, drafters, and other disciplines to resolve technical issues.
• Participating in technical meetings and clearly communicating questions, progress, and potential concerns.
• Performing self-checks to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and quality of deliverables.
• Incorporating review comments and supporting the checking and approval process.
• Meeting project schedules, priorities, and delivery commitments.
• Supporting the development of efficient and constructible design solutions.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

• Technical degree, professional training, or equivalent experience in drafting, structural design, civil engineering, or a related field.
• Relevant experience in structural steel drafting, detailing, or design.
• English proficiency sufficient to understand technical information and communicate with global teams.
• Strong knowledge of structural steel components, connections, supports, platforms, stairs, ladders, handrails, and miscellaneous steel.
• Ability to read and interpret structural drawings, engineering documents, specifications, and technical information.
• Experience using structural design and drafting software such as Advance Steel, AutoCAD, Revit, Tekla, or similar tools.
• Knowledge of drafting standards, drawing practices, and quality control requirements.
• Ability to understand technical discussions and translate engineering requirements into accurate drawings and models.
• Strong communication skills, including the ability to ask clear and relevant technical questions.
• Ability to work effectively with engineers, designers, drafters, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering accurate, complete, and constructible work.
• Ability to work independently, organize priorities, and meet established deadlines.
• Experience in the Oil & Gas, industrial, infrastructure, or construction sectors is valued.
• Knowledge of international standards and codes related to structural steel is a plus.
• Positive attitude, teamwork mindset, accountability, and willingness to learn.
