Work With Us is seeking a Structural Designer/Structural Design Engineer for a California-based architectural and structural practice. You will design and document residential structures using Autodesk Revit, from architectural models to calculations and construction documents.

Responsibilities include designing wood framing, performing gravity and lateral calculations, and coordinating with plans, details, and schedules. CBC/CRC, ASCE 7, NDS, SDPWS, ACI 318 and AISC 360 apply.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.
• 3–7 years of relevant structural design experience preferred.
• Strong experience with wood-frame residential structures.
• Strong proficiency in Autodesk Revit.
• Experience with ENERCALC, WoodWorks, Bluebeam, AutoCAD and Excel.
• Ability to independently develop a structural solution from an architectural model.
• Professional English proficiency for technical communication.

• Produce clear, coordinated structural drawing packages for review by a U.S.-based Engineer of Record.
• Conduct quality-control reviews to ensure accuracy and consistency.

About the Role

We are looking for a Structural Designer / Structural Design Engineer to join a California-based architectural and structural engineering practice. The role focuses on designing and documenting residential structures, primarily using Autodesk Revit, from architectural models through calculations and construction documents.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop structural designs for single-family homes, ADUs, additions, remodels, decks, carports, and other residential structures.
• Review architectural Revit models and establish appropriate gravity and lateral load paths.
• Design wood framing, beams, headers, posts, shear walls, foundations, and structural connections.
• Perform structural calculations for gravity, lateral, foundation, and retaining-wall systems.
• Coordinate calculations with Revit plans, details, schedules, and construction documents.
• Apply applicable California and U.S. codes, including CBC/CRC, ASCE 7, NDS, SDPWS, ACI 318, and AISC 360.
• Produce clear, coordinated, and constructible structural drawing packages for review by a U.S.-based Engineer of Record.
• Perform quality-control reviews to ensure calculations and drawings are complete and consistent.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.
• 3-7 years of relevant structural design experience preferred.
• Strong experience with wood-frame residential structures.
• Strong proficiency in Autodesk Revit.
• Experience with structural calculations and design software such as ENERCALC, WoodWorks, Bluebeam, AutoCAD, and Excel.
• Ability to independently develop a structural solution from an architectural model-not simply perform BIM modeling or drafting.
• Professional English proficiency sufficient for technical communication, calculations, notes, and design reviews.
• California experience is preferred but not required.
