Job summary

TaskUs Colombia SAS is seeking a Business Insights & Automation Analyst to turn complex telemetry, task logs, and model data into actionable BI and automated workflows. You will work primarily in the Google Ecosystem (BigQuery, Google Sheets, Looker Studio, Apps Script) alongside Redshift, building lightweight internal tools and dashboards to monitor SLAs and classifier quality.

The role requires strong SQL, GAS, and spreadsheet modeling skills, with experience in BI visualization and ML

Qualifications

• Must have experience writing JavaScript-based scripts in Google Apps Script to automate data pipelines and interact with external APIs.
• Hands-on proficiency querying cloud data warehouses (BigQuery/Redshift) using advanced SQL techniques.
• Mastery of complex formulas in Google Sheets for data normalization and reporting.
• Deep experience building dashboards in Looker Studio with BigQuery/Sheets data sources.
• Solid understanding of classification metrics (Precision, Recall, F1-score) for ML quality audits.

Responsibilities

• Workflow Automation & Tooling: develop automations and lightweight web apps using Google Apps Script.

Business Insights & Automation Analyst Overview

As a Business Insights & Automation Analyst, you will be responsible for turning complex operational telemetry, task logs, and model evaluation data into actionable business intelligence and automated workflows. You will work primarily within the Google Ecosystem (BigQuery, Google Sheets, Looker Studio, Google Apps Script) alongside Amazon Redshift, querying massive datasets, building lightweight internal web tools/automations, and reporting on operational performance, Service Level Agreements (SLAs), and machine learning classifier quality.

Key Responsibilities & Deliverables

• Data Extraction & Warehousing: Write optimized, robust SQL queries across Google BigQuery and Amazon Redshift to extract, aggregate, and transform large-scale operational records.
• Workflow Automation & Tooling: Develop, deploy, and maintain custom automations, triggers, and lightweight internal web apps using Google Apps Script to eliminate manual reporting friction.
• Operational & SLA Analytics: Track and analyze key throughput metrics, including queue latency, handle times, reassignment ratios, and SLA compliance across operations teams.
• Reporting & Dashboards: Design and maintain executive-ready, automated dashboards strictly in Looker Studio and advanced Google Sheets.
• AI/ML Quality & Classification: Evaluate ground-truth labeling accuracy and classifier outputs using standard metrics (Precision, Recall, F1-Score, Confusion Matrices).
• Root Cause Analysis (RCA): Conduct deep-dive statistical investigations into performance bottlenecks, triage errors, and data discrepancies.

Required Qualifications & Core Competencies

• 1. Must-Have Technical Skills (Strict Requirements) Demonstrated Experience in Google Apps Script (GAS): Proven experience writing JavaScript-based scripts in Google Apps Script to automate data pipelines, sync data across Google Sheets, trigger email alerts, and interact with external APIs or BigQuery. Experience developing custom functions, scheduled triggers, and interactive Google Sheets tools.
• 2. Advanced SQL (BigQuery & Amazon Redshift): Hands‑on proficiency querying columnar and cloud data warehouses (Google BigQuery and Amazon Redshift). Strong command of Common Table Expressions (CTEs), window functions, partitions, and query optimization techniques for high‑volume datasets.
• 3. Advanced Google Sheets Modeling: Mastery of complex formulas (QUERY, FILTER, ARRAYFORMULA, INDEX/MATCH, regex functions) and data normalization.
• 4. BI & Data Visualization (Google Stack): Deep experience building interactive, clean dashboards solely in Looker Studio integrated with BigQuery and Google Sheets data sources.
• 5. AI/ML Evaluation & Statistical Modeling: Solid understanding of classification metrics: Precision, Recall, F1-score, False Positives/Negatives. Ability to design sampling plans and statistical methods to audit labeling accuracy and task quality.

Professional & Operational Competencies

• Technical-to-Executive Translation: Ability to translate raw operational data into high-level business stories and actionable recommendations for stakeholders.
• Process Optimization Mindset: Proactive identification of operational bottlenecks and initiative to build automated solutions rather than relying on manual reporting.

Nice-to-Have Experience

• Experience with Python (pandas, numpy) for exploratory data analysis.
• Prior experience supporting autonomous vehicle (AV), geospatial, or large-scale AI annotation operations.
• Familiarity with building basic HTML/CSS front-ends via Google Apps Script Web Apps.

Education & Background

• • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electronics & Communications Engineering (ECE), Information Technology, or related quantitative field.
• • 2+ years of professional analytics experience combining SQL, dashboarding, and workflow automation.
