Job summary

Amadeus IT Group Colombia, S.A.S. in Bogota is seeking an Associate Software Development Engineer to help advance our Departure Control System (DCS) for Customer Management. You’ll join a development team that designs and delivers software aligned with customer needs and industry standards.

You will analyze specifications, design and code modules, run tests, and document your work. Fluency in English and experience with C++, Java or OO languages, plus Python familiarity, are valued.

Qualifications

• Fluent in English.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or related field.
• Development experience in C++, Java or other Object-Oriented programming language is needed.
• Familiarity with Python.
• Experience with working in complex applications.

Responsibilities

• Analyze specifications, define user requirements for the development of new or upgraded software solutions.
• Design systems and code, design technical solutions and perform feasibility studies.
• Propose viable technical solutions to Product Management and/or users for validation.
• Test and maintain the software, run unit, package and performance tests and ensure quality per Amadeus guidelines.
• Document your work and produce software documentation for the application.

Job Title Associate Software Development Engineer

About The Business Area/Department

We’re looking for enthusiastic Software Engineers to work with our customers to understand their business needs, issues and to propose corresponding solutions and evolutions to our Departure Control System (DCS) product of Customer Management to address these. The role is based at our Bogota development center. You will join the team that maintains the software that handles the complex logic to manage the baggage, ancillary, regulatory and all processes related to flights at the core of the Amadeus DCS Customer Management application.

Summary of the role

The Software Engineer is a key member of the team who is learning to master the Amadeus DCS product and is becoming a key player in the all the aspects of Software developments phases for the new gaps - and enhancement of existing - software solutions and delivers projects on time in a team-based environment. As a Software Engineer, you will be accountable for the design and development of all the product functionalities based on the customer’s needs.

In this role you’ll:

• Analyze specifications, define user requirements for the development of new (or upgrade of existing) software solutions.


• Design systems and code, design technical solutions and perform feasibility studies.


• Propose viable technical solutions to Product Management and/or users for validation.


• Test and maintain the software, conduct unit, package and performance tests and ensure a level of quality in line with the Amadeus guidelines.


• Document your work, produce software documentation necessary for the application and issue it to the requesting departments.

About the ideal candidate:
