Job summary

CooperSurgical Costa Rica-based role seeks a Value Stream Manager for Media Manufacturing overseeing formulation, aseptic filling, and packaging in ISO-class cleanrooms. You will drive safe, compliant production, ensure on-time delivery, and manage resources to meet customer demand.

Relocation is required; collaborate with Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Regulatory teams to optimize output, reduce waste, and control costs while developing a high-performing team. Bilingual EN/ES is a plus.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in manufacturing leadership, with labor- and machine-intensive operations.
• Experience in aseptic environments and cleanrooms (ISO Class 5, 7, 8).
• Strong knowledge of GMP, regulatory, and quality systems.
• Proven ability to manage budgets and drive cost improvements.
• Excellent cross-functional collaboration across Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Commercial teams.
• Fluent in English; Spanish proficiency highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead Media Manufacturing value stream: formulation, aseptic filling, and packaging.
• Set production priorities and allocate resources to meet demand.
• Drive Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, Inventory, and People metrics with GMP/ISO compliance.
• Monitor performance, identify bottlenecks, and coordinate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues.
• Maintain optimal inventory levels and safety stock while maximizing capacity.
• Lead investigations of deviations, CAPAs, and quality issues to reduce waste.
• Review and approve manufacturing and quality system documentation and change controls.
• Drive continuous improvement using Lean and Operational Excellence methods.
• Collaborate with Supply Chain and suppliers to ensure material availability and continuity.
• Identify, evaluate, and implement technologies and process improvements for efficiency and scalability.
• Develop and coach a high-performing team with succession planning and engagement.
• Manage departmental budgets and monitor costs toward financial targets.
• Act as escalation point for customer-related quality and delivery issues with Commercial and Quality teams.
• Provide regular leadership updates on performance, risks, and improvement initiatives.
