Role Description

This is a full-time Artificial Intelligence Engineer role based in Medellín, Colombia, with a hybrid work model that combines on-site collaboration and flexible work-from-home arrangements. The Artificial Intelligence Engineer will design, develop, and deploy AI models and applications that address client needs, including pattern recognition, natural language understanding, and predictive analytics. Daily responsibilities include analyzing requirements, building and training neural network models, implementing software components, integrating AI solutions with existing systems, and optimizing performance for production environments. The role also involves working with cross-functional teams, conducting experiments, evaluating model effectiveness, documenting technical solutions, and staying current with advances in AI, machine learning, and software engineering. The engineer is expected to contribute to best practices, support code reviews, and help ensure that AI solutions are reliable, secure, and maintainable.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in Computer Science, including algorithms, data structures, and software engineering principles.
• Experience with Pattern Recognition and Neural Networks, including model design, training, evaluation, and optimization.
• Hands-on Software Development skills in languages commonly used for AI (such as Python, Java, or similar), and familiarity with modern development tools and version control.
• Practical experience with Natural Language Processing (NLP), including working with text data, language models, and relevant libraries or frameworks.
• Familiarity with machine learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn) and deployment of models to production environments.
• Ability to translate business problems into technical solutions, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate in hybrid teams across remote and on-site settings.
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience working in consulting, client-facing environments, or data/AI projects in industry is a plus.
• Comfort working in an international environment; professional proficiency in Spanish and English is beneficial.
