Aprio, a nationally ranked CPA and advisory firm, invites you to join its Information Technology team as a Process & Quality Analyst. You will combine business analysis with quality assurance to improve accounting and tax processes and support automation initiatives.

The role defines and documents business requirements, develops and executes test plans, and collaborates with stakeholders—Automation Developers, Process Owners, SMEs, and Application Architects—to standardize workflows and deliver

Join Aprio's Information Technology team and you will help clients maximize their opportunities. Aprio is a progressive, fast-growing firm looking for a Process & Quality Analyst to join their dynamic team.

The Process & Quality Analyst is a hybrid role combining business analysis and quality assurance responsibilities. The PQA works with business and technology stakeholders to analyze accounting and tax processes, recommend process improvements, and support the delivery of automation and technology solutions that drive efficiency, scalability, and business value.

This role is responsible for defining and documenting business requirements and processes, as well as developing and executing test plans to ensure solutions meet business needs and quality standards. The BQA collaborates with internal and external team members—including Automation Developers, Process Owners, Business SMEs, and Application Architects—to identify and eliminate wasteful processes, standardize workflows, and support change management for new technology implementations.

The ideal candidate brings an analytical, detail-oriented mindset, curiosity, and a relentless drive for improvement, supported by the tools and resources of an innovation-focused team. Business Analysis
  • Analyze business processes at both micro and macro levels to create a complete picture of workflows and requirements for automation and technology solutions.
  • Identify and document key opportunities for process improvement and automation, driving standardization across business processes.
  • Become a subject matter expert on the business processes being analyzed for automation and technology enhancement.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to perform impact analysis, facilitate process documentation changes, and support business readiness and adoption for new solutions.
  • Gather requirements using Agile and Scrum methodology; document in Epics, Features, and User Stories; define acceptance criteria and appropriately size stories.
  • Facilitate and coordinate requirements walk-throughs and sign-offs with key business and technology stakeholders.
  • Influence and drive work among disparate teams with competing priorities, acting as a trusted advisor by providing objective, practical, and relevant ideas and insights.
  • Lead collaboration activities with internal and external stakeholders throughout the automation and technology product lifecycle.
Quality Assurance
  • Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts based on business requirements for User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and business quality assurance of automation solutions.
  • Perform functional, regression, integration, and UAT testing to ensure solutions meet business needs and comply with quality standards.
  • Identify, document, and track defects; work with developers to resolve issues and validate fixes.
  • Continuously monitor implemented solutions for optimal performance and opportunities for continuous improvement; help resolve business-related issues as they arise.
  • Support change management and business readiness for new technology implementations by validating solution quality and user experience.
  • Work within defined Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) governance processes.
  • Proven experience analyzing and documenting business processes at both detailed and strategic levels.
  • Ability to identify, evaluate, and recommend process improvements and automation opportunities.
  • Experience gathering and translating business requirements into functional specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
  • Skilled in facilitating requirements workshops, impact analysis, and process documentation changes.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute test plans, test cases, and scripts for functional, regression, integration, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
  • Experience identifying, documenting, and tracking defects, and collaborating with development teams to resolve issues.
  • Familiarity with quality assurance methodologies and tools, ensuring solutions meet business needs and quality standards.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for building collaborative relationships with stakeholders, including business SMEs, developers, and process owners.
  • Ability to communicate complex concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience facilitating requirements walk-throughs, sign-offs, and change management activities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 suite (Excel, Flow, Forms, SharePoint, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Experience with Agile and Scrum methodologies, including working within Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) governance.
  • Analytical mindset with attention to detail and a focus on measurable outcomes (ROI, error reduction, data quality, etc.).
  • Demonstrated ability to monitor implemented solutions for performance and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Adaptive and innovative, with a continuous learning and growth mindset.
  • Willingness to coach and mentor colleagues and contribute to a culture of improvement.
  • Foundational and working knowledge of the accounting industry, including tax and audit.
  • Foundational knowledge of process improvement methodologies (Lean Six Sigma) and process documentation standards (e.g., BPMN).
  • Experience with data analysis leveraging database principles (Oracle, SQL, MongoDB, etc.) is a major plus.
  • Prior consulting experience.
