Cloudstaff is seeking an experienced Senior AI/GenAI engineer to design, build, and productionize LLM-powered features for document processing in Colombia. You will own the AI feature lifecycle, develop RAG pipelines, and integrate AI outputs into the product backend.

You’ll work with OCR pipelines, collaborate with product/engineering, and write clear technical documentation. Strong Python, FastAPI, LangChain/LangGraph, and cloud experience are essential.

Formación

• 7+ years of software engineering experience.
• 4+ years building production AI/Generative AI applications.
• Strong Python skills with FastAPI or similar.
• Experience with Prompt Engineering, RAG, AI agents, LangChain, LangGraph.
• Experience with AWS or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Business English proficiency required.

Responsabilidades

• Design, build, and productionize LLM-powered features such as document extraction and RAG pipelines.
• Own AI feature lifecycle from prototyping to deployment.
• Build and maintain evals to measure model accuracy.
• Write backend services in Python that integrate AI outputs.

What You'll Do:

• Design, build, and productionize LLM-powered features — document/data extraction, agentic compliance evaluation, RAG pipelines, and confidence scoring
• Own the AI feature lifecycle: prototyping, evaluation design, prompt/agent iteration, and production deployment
• Build and maintain evals to measure and improve model accuracy over time
• Write backend services (Python/FastAPI or similar) that integrate AI outputs into illumend's product
• Work with document processing and OCR pipelines to extract structured data from insurance documents (COIs, endorsements, policies)
• Collaborate closely with product and engineering to translate compliance requirements into robust technical solutions
• Write clear technical documentation and participate in code review
• Contribute to architecture decisions as illumend's AI systems scale

What We're Looking For:

• Hands-on production experience building LLM/GenAI systems — not just prototypes
• Strong Python skills; experience with FastAPI or comparable backend frameworks
• Practical experience with prompt engineering, RAG, and agentic patterns (e.g., LangChain, LangGraph, or equivalent)
• Experience with cloud infrastructure (GCP or AWS)
• Comfort building and interpreting evaluation frameworks for model quality
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently in a fast-moving startup
• Bonus: experience with document/OCR processing, multimodal LLMs, or insurance/compliance domains

Non-negotiable skills and requirements:
