Backblaze is seeking a Software Engineer, AI to help design scalable server-side APIs and integrate AI-assisted development for a global customer base. You will contribute to building reliable cloud storage infrastructure and collaborate with product, QA, and support teams to reflect real-world workflows.

You will work with open source tooling and modern AI frameworks while maintaining high standards for security, testing, and performance in a remote-friendly environment.

Formación

• 2+ years backend software engineering experience serving millions of users.
• Proficiency in backend languages (Java, Python, TypeScript or similar).
• Practical understanding of AI workflows — data preprocessing, inference, orchestration.
• Experience with large-scale APIs and distributed storage or data systems.
• Production-quality coding habits: testing, documentation, security and performance.
• Customer-focused mindset and strong written communication.
• Cross-functional collaboration in a fast-paced environment.

Responsabilidades

• Use AI-assisted tools to accelerate implementation while validating correctness, security, and performance.
• Design and build server-side APIs that authenticate users, manage backups, and handle large-scale data operations.
• Collaborate with Product, QA, and Support teams to align backend features with customer workflows.
• Build and maintain tooling to diagnose and resolve customer issues at scale.
• Ensure code and open source assets meet standards for testing, documentation, reproducibility, and usability.
