Job summary

CarbonBetter is seeking an Accounting Analyst to join our fast-growing team in Medellín. You will own day-to-day accounting activities for the natural gas portfolio, including AR/AP, general ledger, reconciliations, and monthly close.

The role offers growth as the company scales and broad exposure to financial reporting and analysis. You will team with our trade operations group to reconcile statements with counterparties, ensure tax compliance, and support internal controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Public Accounting or related field.
• 2+ years of accounting experience.
• Advanced Excel skills with lookups and complex formulas.
• Experience with QuickBooks is a plus.
• Strong multitasking and ability to work in a fast-growth environment.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision.

Responsibilities

• Partner with natural gas counterparties to reconcile discrepancies.
• Reconcile trade statements and resolve differences.
• Support tax compliance for state taxes related to natural gas.
• Process accounts receivable and accounts payable with high accuracy.
• Prepare weekly sales commissions for external channel partners.
• Conduct monthly profit and loss analysis for assigned accounts.
• Reconcile cash balances and daily bank activity.
• Review GAAP-compliant accounting records and reports.
