Softgic is seeking a Principal Infrastructure Engineer to ensure availability, performance, security, and reliability of hosting and SaaS infrastructure across Linux, Windows, cloud, virtualization, networking, and containers. This is a hands-on leadership role focusing on operations, automation, troubleshooting, and DR planning.

You will mentor junior engineers, lead key infrastructure initiatives, and collaborate with external providers to deliver scalable solutions while adapting to on-call

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, Engineering, or a related field.
• 7–10 years of relevant infrastructure engineering experience.
• Advanced expertise with Linux and Windows Servers, databases, and networking.
• Strong experience with automation and configuration management tools such as Puppet, Chef, and Ansible.
• Experience with Docker CE, Docker Data Center, or equivalent container platforms.
• Design-level expertise with SaaS operating platforms.
• Experience with VMware virtualization and cloud infrastructure in managed service environments.
• Strong scripting and infrastructure automation capabilities.
• Hands-on project management experience and excellent communication skills.
• Experience with SOC 2 or equivalent compliance frameworks is preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Maintain highly available and reliable hosting infrastructure across Linux, Windows, cloud, networking, database, virtualization, and container environments.
• Support Engineering teams with development and testing environments; troubleshoot full-stack issues including network connectivity, SSL, and application behavior.
• Perform system administration activities including server installation, deployments, patching, log analysis, and customer account provisioning.
• Develop and improve automation and configuration management processes to increase infrastructure efficiency and reliability.
• Create and maintain technical documentation covering servers, network topology, equipment, configurations, and infrastructure procedures.
• Develop, test, maintain, and execute disaster recovery plans and enforce infrastructure compliance requirements.
• Collaborate with hosting providers, managed service providers, and third-party teams to implement solutions.
• Perform capacity planning and define technical specifications for new server and networking equipment.
• Lead infrastructure projects with clear milestones, schedules, and deliverables.
• Participate in after-hours maintenance, upgrades, troubleshooting, and on-call support.
• Provide technical leadership, knowledge sharing, and mentorship to junior engineers.

This is a hands‑on technical leadership role responsible for infrastructure operations, automation, troubleshooting, compliance, disaster recovery, capacity planning, and the implementation of new hosted services. The position will also lead key infrastructure initiatives and mentor junior team members.

Requisitos

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, Engineering, or a related field.
• 7–10 years of relevant infrastructure engineering experience.

• Industry certifications such as RHCSA/RHCE, MCSA/MCSE, CCNA, or CCNA Security are highly desirable.
