Job summary

Lifted (an Upwork Company) is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to design, build, and maintain backend platforms and services operating at scale. You will collaborate with engineering, data science, product, design, and business partners to deliver reliable, high-quality software using AI-assisted coding tools.

Enterprise experience is strongly preferred. Candidates should reside in eligible LATAM locations and be available to align with US Central or Pacific Time.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field with at least 2 years of related experience; or an advanced degree with no prior experience.
• Proficiency in one or more modern backend programming languages, such as Java, Kotlin, or similar.
• Experience building and operating large-scale, high-performance, and resilient systems.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills in English, with the ability to work effectively across teams.
• Curiosity and a willingness to learn, adapt, and take on new challenges.
