Maersk seeks a Construction Project Manager to lead planning, execution, and delivery of large-scale depot and warehouse projects across the WSA Area (Peru, Chile, Ecuador, Bolivia). You will manage scope, schedule, budget, risk, permitting, and construction execution.

Based in Lima or Santiago, you will coordinate with landlords, general contractors, regulators, and vendors; ensure safety, quality, and readiness; and drive governance, procurement, and stakeholder alignment for on-site

Formación

  • 10+ years of construction project management experience in logistics/industrial facilities.
  • Fluent in English and Spanish for multicultural collaboration.
  • PMP, CAPM, LEED, OSHA, or similar certification preferred.

The WSA Construction Project Manager is responsible for leading the planning, execution, and delivery of construction projects across the WSA Area (Peru, Chile, Ecuador and Bolivia). This role is accountable for managing scope, schedule, budget, risk, stakeholder alignment, permitting, and construction execution.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Lead the construction part of the investment projects including Depots and warehouses, relocations, site start-ups, temporary operations, and decommissioning activities.

  • Serve as the primary project coordinator across external teams, landlords, general contractors, architects, engineers, vendors, and regulatory authorities, in coordination with the Project Manager of the project.

  • Develop, maintain, and manage detailed scope, project plans, schedules, budgets, risk logs, and execution trackers.

  • Manage overall construction quality, safety, stakeholder alignment, and operational readiness throughout the life of the project.

  • Lead facility design, permitting, and approval processes, including architectural, MEP, fire/life safety, building permits, and occupancy requirements.

  • Coordinate with landlords to ensure base-building systems such as power, utilities, and initial conditions of the land received from them for the beginning of the project.

  • Support the contracting process in coordination with the Project Manager and Procurement team, ensuring compliance with company policies and guidelines for construction-related procurement

  • Oversee construction execution on site to ensure work is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and aligned with approved scope and design.

  • Establish construction governance, meeting cadence, communication structure, action tracking, and escalation paths to support accountability and timely decision-making.

  • Facilitate project meetings, including agenda preparation, stakeholder alignment, issue resolution, decision tracking, and follow‑up actions.

  • Manage project budgets, including cost tracking, forecasting, change order review, invoice coordination, and internal financial reporting.

  • Identify scope gaps, support vendor selection, and manage general contractor and vendor performance, and propose potential improvements on the base design to reduce the CAPEX without any deviation in the budget.

  • Proactively identify project risks related to permitting, utilities, landlord scope, construction sequencing, budget, safety, and develop mitigation and contingency plans.

  • Escalate timeline, budget, resource, risk, vendor, landlord, and accountability issues to senior leadership as appropriate.

Required Knowledge and Skills
  • Strong understanding of construction project management in greenfield and brownfield projects, focused on logistic infrastructure (Depots and warehouses)

  • Knowledge of depot and warehouse construction fundamentals, including flooring criterias, slab flatness, clear heights, column spacing, racking, and overall building functionality.

  • Working knowledge of fire/life safety systems, including sprinklers, ESFR systems, in‑rack sprinklers, fire alarms, emergency lighting, and occupancy requirements.

  • Strong understanding of permitting strategy, including building permits, MEP permits, inspections, and approval dependencies.

  • Coordination of permits, long‑lead procurement, utility timelines, construction sequencing, inspections, and operational readiness.

  • Strong vendor and general contractor management skills, including bid review, scope validation, order management, execution oversight, and issue resolution.

  • Strong risk management, issue resolution, contingency planning, and escalation skills.

  • Excellent written, verbal, and executive‑level communication skills.

  • Strong cross‑functional coordination and stakeholder management capabilities.

  • Strong sense of urgency, ownership, organization, attention to detail, and follow‑through.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Microsoft Project, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and project tracking tools.

Requirements

This role is open to candidates based in Lima, Peru, or Santiago, Chile.

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering, Architecture, Business, Project Management, Supply Chain, Operations, or a related field preferred.

  • 10+ years of construction project management experience required in the logistics sector; Depots, warehouse, logistics, distribution center, industrial, tenant improvement, or facilities experience strongly preferred.

  • Fluent English and Spanish, with the ability to communicate effectively across a multicultural and regional environment.

  • PMP, CAPM, LEED, OSHA, or other construction/project management certification preferred.

  • Available to travel within the country and to other countries across the West Coast region as required.
