The United Nations Secretariat, within the Sustainable Development and Human Settlements Division in Santiago, seeks a Sustainable Development Officer to monitor and analyze program development and implementation related to sustainable development. The role supports intergovernmental meetings, outreach, and capacity-building projects to advance regional development and data-driven decisions.

Education requires an advanced degree (or equivalent) with seven years’ experience in policy or program

Formación

• Advanced university degree in a relevant field is required.
• A first-level degree with two years of qualifying experience may substitute for the advanced degree.
• Seven years of progressively responsible experience in project/program management or policy work related to sustainable development is required.

Responsabilidades

• Monitor and analyze program and project development and implementation in sustainable development.
• Identify issues and initiate corrective actions; liaise with relevant parties.
• Conduct research, analyze trends, develop policy recommendations, and prepare written outputs.
• Provide substantive support to intergovernmental bodies; organize outreach and capacity-building activities.
• Lead field missions, manage budget-related activities, and design/monitor capacity-building projects.
