BHP Chile is seeking a Specialist Demand Management to drive procurement performance from Santiago with occasional travel. You will forecast demand for strategic suppliers, transform data into actionable insights, and build automation using Power BI, Power Automate and Copilot Studio.

Formación

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, Economics, Operations, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years in Demand Management, Procurement, or related areas.
  • Experience forecasting, KPI dashboards and reporting.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Power Platform and SAP is desirable.

As a Specialist Demand Management, you will play a key role in driving Procurement performance through demand forecasting, advanced analytics and digital enablement. You will provide timely visibility of business requirements to strategic suppliers and transform Procurement needs and complex data into actionable insights, automation opportunities and digital solutions.

In this role, you will act as a strategic analytical partner, leveraging data, technology and cross-functional collaboration to improve decision-making, supplier performance and continuous improvement across Procurement. Working from Santiago, with occasional travel, you will help connect business requirements with practical, scalable and data-driven solutions that enhance supply chain performance and support long‑term business outcomes.

Key responsabilities
  • Develop and continuously improve purchase forecasts for strategic suppliers, translating maintenance and business requirements into timely and actionable procurement demand.
  • Apply statistical, probabilistic and quantitative forecasting methodologies to analyze demand patterns, seasonality, lead times, forecast accuracy, bias and variability.
  • Build analytical models to assess demand uncertainty, forecast risk and potential supply impacts, enabling proactive decision‑making.
  • Lead monthly Demand Management routines with suppliers and key stakeholders, identifying risks, opportunities and demand deviations while driving actions to improve visibility and responsiveness.
  • Support DIFOT performance management by connecting demand forecasts with supplier performance, identifying gaps and generating actionable insights.
  • Serve as a strategic analytical partner for Procurement and senior leaders, transforming complex business data into meaningful insights that support prioritization and performance management.
  • Develop and maintain KPIs, dashboards, reporting solutions and business intelligence tools that provide visibility into demand, forecast performance, supplier performance and key Procurement metrics.
  • Identify opportunities for process automation, digitalization and data improvement to increase efficiency, scalability and reliability.
  • Design and implement solutions using Microsoft Power Platform technologies, particularly Power BI, Power Automate and Copilot Studio, to automate workflows, integrate information and enhance reporting.
  • Leverage AI and emerging digital technologies to accelerate insights, automate activities and improve decision‑making capabilities.
  • Support cross‑functional initiatives by translating Procurement business requirements into practical analytical, automated and digital solutions.
  • Act as a bridge between Procurement, business, technology, operations, supply chain stakeholders and suppliers, ensuring alignment and effective information flow.
  • Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders, influencing decisions and supporting high‑impact initiatives that strengthen Procurement performance and continuous improvement.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance Demand Management methodologies, governance, processes and tools, promoting scalable and data‑driven ways of working.
What we expect from you

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, Economics, Operations, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Data Analytics or a related discipline.

Minimum 5 years of experience in Demand Management, Procurement, Supply Chain, Planning, Inventory Management, Analytics or related areas.

Experience in procurement, demand planning, supply planning, inventory management and/or supplier management.

Strong analytical skills with experience in forecasting, statistical analysis, demand variability and performance measurement.

Proven ability to develop forecasting models and transform complex data into actionable insights through KPIs, dashboards and reporting.

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Power Platform, particularly Power BI, Power Automate and Copilot Studio.

Knowledge of data transformation, automation and digital solution development.

Experience leveraging AI and emerging technologies to improve analytics, automation and decision‑making.

Strong stakeholder management, influencing and business partnering capabilities.

Strategic thinking, problem‑solving skills and a continuous improvement mindset.

Ability to manage multiple priorities in dynamic and complex environments.

Advanced written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish.

Experience with SAP, Microsoft Office and Procurement systems is desirable.
