Job summary

Sezzle is seeking a hands-on Senior Software Engineer, Security Platform to build and own the security platform that discovers, scans, triages and routes findings, with Go and Python on Kubernetes. You’ll work on SAST/SCA and gate automation, CI/CD tooling, and an event-driven NATS bus, reporting to the Director of Information Security, in a fully remote role.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional software engineering experience, with strong backend focus.
• Deployed significant production changes in the last 30 days.
• Proficient in Golang and Python.
• Hands-on with event-driven or message-based systems (NATS, Kafka).
• Experience building and operating CI/CD tooling — GitLab CI is a plus.
• Knowledge of web application security (OWASP Top 10).
• Experience with SAST, SCA, and secret scanning tooling.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate security services in Go and Python on AWS/Kubernetes.
• Own the event-driven platform between security services (NATS bus, contracts, observability).
• Integrate scanners, findings, tickets, and metrics across the platform.
• Own delivery of security gates (SAST, SCA, secret detection, container/IaC scanning).
• Build agentic security workflows and CI review agents adopted by engineers.
• Develop triage/remediation automation with remediation guidance and routing.
• Participate in threat modeling and secure design reviews.
• Join on-call rotation for the services you own.
