Senior Planning Engineer

At Grafton Group, we are looking for a Senior Planning Engineer to join the PowerChina team. This role is critical for ensuring that our large-scale energy projects are delivered on time, through effective coordination, schedule management, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.

Your Mission

As a Senior Planning Engineer, you will report directly to the Planning Manager and play a key role in defining and maintaining project schedules. You’ll coordinate construction sequences, align team objectives, and track progress to keep projects on course — from energy plants to transmission substations.

️ Main Responsibilities

  • Develop and oversee project planning strategies to ensure effective resource and time allocation.
  • Create and manage detailed schedules, identifying key milestones and deliverables.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to prioritize tasks and align objectives.
  • Conduct gap analyses and recommend corrective actions to keep the project on track.
  • Communicate progress, risks, and solutions to senior management and project stakeholders.
  • Stay up to date on industry best practices and project management tools.
  • Ensure compliance with execution standards in EPC, civil works, electrical infrastructure, and contract management.
Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in project planning and management, specifically in wind farms, photovoltaic plants, or transmission substations.
  • Advanced English (spoken and written) is mandatory.
  • Proven experience with Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.
  • Strong understanding of EPC execution processes, contract management, engineering coordination, and scheduling.
  • Deep knowledge of project management tools and planning software.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and performance metrics.
  • Excellent communication and reporting skills in both Spanish and English.
  • Leadership and personnel management capabilities.
  • Availability to work on-site in photovoltaic parks (Calama / María Elena).
  • Adaptability and flexibility to respond to changes in project plans.
