Job summary

Bluelight is seeking a senior backend-focused software engineer to join our growing team. You will build low-latency API services in AWS, work with PostgreSQL/AuroraDB, and contribute across the full stack, including frontend when needed.

You will collaborate with diverse teams, align with client needs, and maintain high code quality through tests and migrations. Remote-friendly with opportunities to grow professionally.

Qualifications

• 5+ years professional backend software development experience.
• Strong experience with Node.js, TypeScript and JavaScript.
• Experience building low-latency API services in AWS.
• Experience with PostgreSQL/AuroraDB, including RLS.
• Ability to write SQL and manage migrations.
• Experience with React and full-stack development.
• Strong testing practices and integration tests.
• Ability to overlap US business hours.
• Bachelor's degree required.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain backend services and APIs for high-scale applications.
• Design secure, multi-tenant architectures and robust data models.
• Collaborate with frontend and AI-assisted development teams.
• Participate in CI/CD pipeline setup and maintenance.
• Contribute to code reviews, testing, and documentation.
