The role emphasizes applying ISO 45001/14001 standards, conducting field inspections, leading risk assessments, and coordinating multidisciplinary teams to ensure regulatory compliance and safe project execution.

Qualifications

• Requires a professional degree related to the environment, safety, health and 8 to 10 years of relevant work experience or 12 to 14 years of relevant work experience.
• Qualified Occupational Health and Safety Professional (Experto en Prevención de Riesgos), with valid accreditation from the competent Chilean authority.
• Knowledge of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001, applicable Chilean regulations and ES&H management practices in mining and construction environments.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate ES&H disciplines to facilitate implementation of Bechtel's ES&H program and ES&H Management System.
• Assist in development, implementation, and maintenance of safety and environmental programs.
• Maintain ES&H databases including incident events, audit/assessment findings, and corrective actions.
• Perform statistical analysis of ES&H data to identify performance trends and contributing factors as part of continuous improvement.
• Identify and coordinate unique software systems and electronic innovations used by ES&H personnel.
• Lead teams in conducting risk assessments, studies, mitigation planning, and monitoring in response to ES&H issues.
• Prepare communications, writes reports, and prepares documents for program execution and records retention.
• Coordinate incident notifications, lead investigations, and prepare incident investigation reports.
• Recommend and implement improvements in processes, procedures, and work activities to minimize hazard potential.
• Participate in and may lead employee training, emergency preparedness, and quality assurance programs.
