The Senior Backend Software Engineer will design, build, and enhance the next generation payments platform, contributing across the full software development lifecycle and taking ownership of production systems.

The role requires strong backend skills, 6+ years in the field, experience with microservices and AWS, and a product-focused mindset.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of backend software engineering experience.
• Strong experience with C#/.NET or another OOP language (Java, Go, etc.) and willingness to work in a .NET environment.
• Payments, fintech, FX, or money movement experience.
• Microservices, event‑driven architecture, and system design experience.
• Cloud experience required; AWS preferred.
• Daily use of AI development tools such as Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code, or similar.
• Product‑focused mindset with strong communication skills.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and modern deployment practices.
• Experience leading technical design discussions and mentoring engineers.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services supporting financial transactions and payment platform functionality.
• Build and enhance systems related to onboarding, payments, settlement, foreign exchange, and business‑critical financial operations.
• Collaborate with product, compliance, and operational teams to deliver new capabilities from concept through deployment.
• Develop and maintain integrations with external partners and third‑party platforms.
• Drive service reliability, monitoring, observability, incident response, and production readiness within assigned domains.
• Participate in architecture discussions, technical planning, and design reviews.
• Provide mentorship and technical guidance to mid‑level engineers.
• Contribute to modernization initiatives involving cloud infrastructure, service‑oriented architecture, and platform transformation efforts.
• Leverage AI‑assisted development tools throughout the software development lifecycle to improve productivity and code quality.
