Job summary

Bluelight is a leading software consultancy seeking an experienced DevOps/SRE professional to join a fast-paced, client-facing team. You will design and maintain scalable CI/CD pipelines on AWS (ECS/Fargate, Aurora) while ensuring security, audit readiness, and robust incident response.

The role requires overlapping US business hours and a bachelor’s degree, with a strong growth-oriented culture and opportunities for certification.

Qualifications

• 5+ years professional experience in DevOps, SRE, or DevSecOps roles.
• Strong hands-on experience with AWS services (ECS/Fargate, RDS/Aurora, ALB, VPC, IAM, CloudWatch, KMS, S3).
• Experience operating Aurora/PostgreSQL in production, including multi-AZ failover, read replicas, and replica lag monitoring.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or CloudFormation).
• Experience with containerization and orchestration using Docker and ECS/Fargate.
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with deployment automation and tested rollback paths, including rollback drills.
• Experience with monitoring, logging, and observability tooling (OpenTelemetry, CloudWatch, or similar).
• Experience with load testing (k6 or similar) and operating services against latency SLOs and error budgets.
• Security-first mindset: vulnerability scanning, secrets management, and compliance/hardening practices.
• Experience supporting SOC 2 (or similar) audit evidence and client security reviews.
• Experience with incident response, on-call rotations, and root-cause analysis.
• Substantial background working with large, complex systems.

Responsibilities

• Architect, implement, and maintain scalable CI/CD pipelines across AWS environments.
• Ensure security and compliance across deployments, including vulnerability scanning and audit readiness.
• Operate and optimize Aurora PostgreSQL in production with multi-AZ failover and read replicas.
• Implement infrastructure as code using Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Containerize applications and manage orchestration with Docker and ECS/Fargate.
• Monitor, log, and observe systems using OpenTelemetry and CloudWatch; tune performance.
• Plan and execute load testing (k6) to meet latency SLOs and error budgets.
• Support SOC 2/audit activities and client security reviews.
• Prepare for incident response, on-call rotations, and root-cause analyses.
• Collaborate with large, complex systems across teams and time zones.
• Overlap US business hours to coordinate with clients and teams.
