Description

Dr. Beth Pfannl, Senior Leadership Executive, will serve as the lead consultant for The International School Nido de Aguilas | High School Principal search. She will be assisted by members of the ISS Leadership Search Team.

Nido de Aguilas is located on a spacious 130 acre park-like setting in the foothills of the Andes mountains, approximately 30 minutes from downtown Santiago. The school is situated in one of the newest and most popular housing areas in Santiago and it is the location of choice for many Nido families.Early Years School (Pre-K to Kindergarten 1), Elementary School (Kindergarten 2 to grade 5), Middle School (grades 6 to 8), and High School (grades 9 to 12) programs are housed in separate facilities and each has its own designated staff including principals, teachers, counselors, and support staff. In addition to classrooms, the campus facilities include two multi-purpose halls, a modern library/media center, science laboratories, a theatre/fine arts center (including an 800-seat theatre, instrumental music rooms, vocal music rooms, art rooms, and a dance studio), college admissions office, counseling center, two cafeterias, nursing/first aid center, several playground areas, a double size gymnasium, weight training and fitness facility, two sports fields, an all-weather track, and an indoor aquatics center.

History of School

Nido was founded in 1934 by Waldo and Juanita Stevenson, passionate educators who believed that students learn best in a supportive and diverse community where the educational program is intentionally designed to nurture the child and is structured to be social, hands-on, innovative, guided by nature, and grounded in community action. To this day, these founding principles shape the School’s core program and make Nido a unique school in Chile.

Scholarships will be provided for the employee’s school age children (maximum 2 children) who attend Nido de Aguilas, provided they meet admissions criteria and maintain satisfactory academic and behavioral standing. The scholarship covers: tuition and incorporation fee, initial admissions and testing fee, and annual registration fee at Nido. This benefit is not transferable to another school. The cost of school bus transportation, after-school activities (if applicable), IB, AP, PSAT, SAT or similar testing, school lunches, week-without-walls trips, field trips, student support services (such as Accelerated English Academy, Learning Support, Speech Therapy, Occupational Therapy, PLA, Math Lab, and other), are the responsibility of the employee.
