Howard Financial is seeking a Junior Income Tax Associate to join our growing tax team and prepare U.S. federal and state returns for a portfolio of clients across our industries.

You will work with Tax Managers who review your work, mentor you, and gradually assign more complex engagements. This hands-on, learning-heavy role provides exposure to individual, partnership, and corporate returns and helps you build a strong foundation in U.S.

Qualificações

• 1–2 years of experience preparing U.S. income tax returns.
• Working knowledge of Forms 1040, 1065, and 1120-S, including how K-1s flow to returns.
• Hands-on experience with professional tax software (UltraTax, Lacerte, ProConnect, CCH Axcess, Drake, or similar).
• A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Strong Excel skills and a sharp eye for detail.
• Professional written and spoken English sufficient to work with U.S.-based teammates.

Responsabilidades

• Prepare U.S. federal and state income tax returns for review by a Tax Manager.
• Prepare extensions and quarterly estimated tax payment calculations.
• Gather and organize client documents (W-2s, 1099s, K-1s, trial balances), and follow up on missing items.
• Tie book-to-tax adjustments back to the client's financial statements and general ledger.
• Prepare supporting workpapers, including fixed asset and depreciation schedules.
• Help draft responses to IRS and state notices under a manager's guidance.
• Keep the tax deadline tracker and client files current through busy season.
• Flag questions and inconsistencies early, rather than waiting to be asked.
