Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. in Santiago, Chile is seeking a Lead Value Engineer to serve as the regional value engineering authority. You will build value baselines, run simulations, and shape the customer business case that anchors deployments of MineStar technologies.

You will apply mine planning expertise to quantify productivity, cost, safety and utilization impacts, working with Commercial, Sales and regional teams to ensure credible, evidence-based targets and credible ROI for customers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mining or Industrial Engineering or related field.
• Advanced degree or business/finance qualification preferred.
• Significant experience in mining operations, mine planning or operational improvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead value engineering for the region, serving as the go-to expert for customer business case analysis.
• Establish value baselines using operational, production, cost and performance data.
• Build value simulations and business case models quantifying productivity, cost, safety and utilization.
• Apply mine planning to evaluate haul cycles, fleet sizing and equipment utilization.
• Collaborate with Commercial and Sales to shape customer value propositions.
• Baseline operations and translate insights into benchmarks for future sites.
• Define value targets and support deployment success with credible business cases.
• Present findings to customer operations, mine planning, finance and executives.
• Contribute to global value engineering standards and tools.
