Job summary

EPAM Systems Inc. seeks an experienced Platform Architect to design, run, and continuously enhance a cloud platform. The role emphasizes independent delivery with one teammate and close customer collaboration, focusing on VDI/EUC across Citrix, VMware Horizon, AVD, WorkSpaces, or Workspot.

The platform is IaC-first on AWS, with plans to extend to Azure and GCP. The ideal candidate brings 5+ years in cloud-native development and 2+ in senior/lead roles, with strong Terraform/HCP, GitHub Actions,

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in cloud native development or platform engineering.
• 5+ years in senior/lead/owner capacities with teams of 5+ FTEs.
• Extensive VDI experience across Citrix, VMware Horizon, AVD, WorkSpaces or similar.
• Strong IaC background with Terraform and remote state management on HCP.

Responsibilities

• Shape and advance cloud platform architecture to meet business needs.
• Own infrastructure lifecycle: provisioning, upgrades, decommissioning and drift detection.
• Build and maintain IaC using Terraform with remote state on HCP.
• Plan, deploy and maintain VDI/EUC solutions across major vendors.
• Establish CI/CD automation using GitHub Actions for infrastructure rollout.
• Leverage AI coding assistants to accelerate IaC development and automation.
• Collaborate with one fellow engineer and customer stakeholders on platform decisions.
• Contribute to growth plans, including bare-metal infrastructure and multi-cloud expansion.

Job description

We're looking for a Platform Architect to take charge of designing, running, and steadily enhancing our cloud platform. This position functions mainly as an individual contributor role, demanding a high degree of personal accountability and the ability to operate independently, while still partnering with one additional team member and various customer-side stakeholders. We're after someone with robust Cloud VDI / End-User Computing (EUC) background across any leading hyperscaler or enterprise VDI technology stack, whether that's Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops, VMware/Omnissa Horizon, Microsoft Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD), Amazon WorkSpaces, or Workspot.
