NHS Lanarkshire seeks a registered pharmacy technician to dispense prescriptions across inpatient and outpatient settings, perform final accuracy checks, and manage controlled drugs. The post involves bedside medicine assessments and participation in the Patient’s Own Drug scheme, within SOP-guided operations.

The candidate will hold a recognised Pharmacy Services qualification, be registered with the GPC, and undertake ongoing revalidation and development activities.

Formación

• Diploma/SQA National Certificate in Pharmacy Services or equivalent to enable registration as a pharmacy technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council
• Registered pharmacy technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council
• Undertake revalidation required by General Pharmaceutical Council and maintain a portfolio of personal and professional development.

Responsabilidades

• To dispense prescriptions, including in-patient, out-patient, controlled drug, clinical trials and clozapine prescription in accordance with SOPs
• To carry out final accuracy checks on prescriptions dispensed by others
• To undertake the final accuracy check of prescriptions/Indents that have been dispensed by others
• To supply controlled drugs to wards and departments throughout NHS Lanarkshire and maintain accurate records
• To retrieve, reconcile and record information about an individual's medicines
• To assess patients’ medicines at bedside and check suitability for the Patient’s Own Drug scheme
