Job summary

Sandvik AB is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer - Associate R&D Professional to support product lifecycle, maintain CAD models and BOMs, and drive manufacturability improvements. You will collaborate with R&D, Manufacturing, Quality, and Sales to resolve technical issues and lead continuous improvement initiatives.

You will create detailed drawings, manage PLM data, and turn designs into manufacturable routes while ensuring compliance with standards and customer requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, manufacturing, design engineering, or related field.
• Experience with CAD software (e.g., CATIA, Creo, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, NX).
• Good understanding of engineering drawings, GD&T, and drafting standards.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials, and assembly techniques.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and engineering documentation.

Responsibilities

• Create and update 2D drawings and 3D models using CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CATIA, Creo, Preferably NX.
• Manage CAD data, documentation, and drawing revisions in PLM system (Preferably Teamcenter).
• Interpret engineering specifications, sketches, and design requirements.
• Prepare detailed manufacturing and assembly drawings for final products, components and raw material
• Develop and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs).
• Ensure designs comply with company standards, customer requirements, and industry regulations.
• Turn drawings into manufacturing routes considering production unit capabilities
• Release updated drawings with customized notes to production, solve operators questions and bring back feedback to improve drawings
• Support design validation, prototyping, and product development activities.
• Keep manufacturing routes updated upon R&D and production requirements
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Global R&D, Manufacturing, Quality.
• Lead on warranty claims investigations, aligning with R&D, Sales Areas and manufacturing actions
• Support troubleshooting of design and manufacturing issues, recommending solutions
