EPAM Systems Inc. in Chile seeks a Lead DevOps Engineer to act as technical lead during platform transitions, retire legacy apps, and reinforce MCP Hosting Infra and AI Marketplace. You will guide architectural decisions, drive automation, and mentor engineers across teams.

The role focuses on AWS-based Kubernetes, Terraform standards, and on-call practices, while improving bot-driven support and credential management at scale. Collaboration with product teams is essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in DevOps or Site Reliability Engineering.
• Proven experience leading technical initiatives end-to-end, including migrations or decommissions.
• Strong AWS, Terraform, and Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service expertise.
• Solid background in monitoring and observability practices.
• Experience building authentication or credential-management systems with OAuth2 at scale.
• Experience designing on-call and support processes, not just participation.
• Proven ability to mentor others and make practical trade-offs.
• English proficiency at a B2+ level.

Responsibilities

• Lead the spin-down of applications with migration plans and stakeholder communication.
• Shape the architecture and reliability of MCP Hosting Infra (Kubernetes on AWS).
• Drive the ongoing development of AI Marketplace.
• Establish the support automation strategy and bot capabilities.
• Set standards for Terraform, observability, runbooks, and on-call practices.
• Analyze bot escalations and convert into automation initiatives.
• Mentor mid-level engineers through code/design reviews and pairing.
• Serve as escalation point for complex incidents and cross-team requests.
• Collaborate with product and other teams to prioritize work.
