Job summary

EPAM Systems is seeking a Lead Data Analyst with a strong background in Pharmaceutical, Clinical, or Biological sciences. The role centers on partnering with client-side applications and SMEs to bridge scientific domain knowledge with data engineering, delivering insights and scalable data visuals for in vitro workflows.

You will guide a distributed team of engineers, produce clear data flow diagrams and docs, and translate complex pharma concepts into actionable guidance.

Qualifications

• Background in Pharmaceutical/Clinical/Biology or related fields.
• 5+ years of life-sciences data experience.
• At least 1 year leading development teams.
• Experience handling scientific/pharma data and data flows.
• Ability to translate complex concepts into visuals, docs, guidance.
• Strong communication with scientific and engineering teams.
• Ability to work independently in distributed teams.
• Solid biology/clinical sciences foundation for accurate pharma data interpretation.
• Strong business communication skills for cross-functional dialogue.
• Experience with data analysis and QA for support materials.
• Proficiency in data visualization to turn complex data into accessible presentations.
• Familiarity with in vitro pharma concepts.
• Fluent English (B2+).

Responsibilities

• Serve as domain expert supporting a cross-functional team of approximately 15 Full-Stack and Data Engineers.
• Guide the team toward a clear understanding of in vitro applications, data flows, and the broader ecosystem.
• Produce clear visual representations of the portfolio and data flows.
• Develop documentation and knowledge resources for efficient issue investigation and resolution.
• Convert scientific concepts for technical teams to apply.
• Operate independently against defined deliverables and timelines in a distributed team.
• Continue pharma R&D domain learning through collaboration with specialists.
