Job summary

EPAM Systems is seeking a Lead Automation Quality Engineer to shape and implement the Automation QA strategy across roughly 16 mobile apps and the CMS powering festival experiences.

You will develop automated mobile tests (iOS Swift, Android Kotlin), web tests (ReactJS/TypeScript on AWS), and API tests (REST, Postman, Swagger, AWS API Gateway). You will lead teams, design test strategies, and build regression and smoke suites to ensure release quality.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on QA experience.
• At least 1 year of leadership/mentoring experience.
• Experience with Appium for mobile testing.
• Experience with Playwright for web testing.
• Strong regression testing foundation.
• Test strategy development experience.
• Proficient in TypeScript for test scripting.
• Familiar with WebdriverIO for browser/app testing.
• English fluency at least B2.

Job description

We're searching for a Lead Automation Quality Engineer to become part of our team. This role involves shaping, documenting, and carrying out the Automation Quality Assurance (AQA) approach spanning roughly 16 mobile applications that share a common codebase, along with the Content Management Solution (CMS) supporting digital experiences for client-sponsored festivals and concert events.

Responsibilities

• Develop and sustain automated testing coverage spanning mobile apps built on both iOS (Swift) and Android (Kotlin)
• Craft automated test scripts for the CMS web platform, which runs on a technology foundation of ReactJS, TypeScript, and AWS
• Design automated API testing for the backend infrastructure, which depends on Rest API, Postman, Swagger, and AWS API Gateway
• Put together and sustain automated regression testing suites applicable to both the mobile apps and CMS environment
• Build automated smoke testing to verify that production releases succeed and that essential user flows work correctly across mobile and CMS platforms

Requirements

• More than five years of applicable, hands-on work experience
• A minimum of one year guiding and overseeing development teams
• Working experience utilizing Appium to automate testing for mobile applications
• Applied expertise using Playwright to handle automated web-based testing
• Strong foundation in regression testing practices to safeguard release stability
• Background crafting test strategies that steer overall quality assurance direction
• Capability in TypeScript for authoring automated test scripting
• Familiarity with WebdriverIO for automating browser and application testing
• Adequate communication abilities paired with working English fluency (B2 level or higher) to grasp business requirements and translate them into agentic architectures

Nice to have

• Some exposure to Python for scripting and automated testing tasks
• Background working with REST API for backend validation and testing purposes
