Job summary

Krunchbox, a retail analytics platform, seeks a Junior Backend Engineer in Santiago, Chile. You will help build backend services, data ingestion pipelines, and APIs using Python and FastAPI, and contribute to cloud infrastructure and CI/CD.

You may be a recent graduate or have 1–3 years of professional software development experience, with a focus on scalable, data-intensive systems and AI-assisted development workflows.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in Python
• 1–3 years of professional software development experience
• Experience building APIs (FastAPI, Django, Flask or similar)
• Basic understanding of RESTful APIs, databases, Git, and best practices

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain backend services using Python and FastAPI.
• Build and improve data ingestion and processing pipelines for analytics.
• Create and maintain API services for the Krunchbox platform.
• Work with large datasets to improve performance, reliability, and scalability.
• Contribute to CI/CD workflows and cloud infrastructure.
• Collaborate with senior engineers, product, and data teams.
• Participate in code reviews, discussions, and architecture decisions.
• Write clean, well-tested, maintainable code and documentation.
