Job summary

International School Nido de Aguilas seeks a High School English Teacher for the 2027–2028 school year. The role focuses on English instruction for grades 9-10, IB English A Language and Literature and/or IB English A Literature, and collaboration with a strong English team.

The candidate should bring passion, innovation, and at least 2 years of teaching experience, with a high level of English proficiency, and a willingness to engage with Nido’s mission and multicultural context.

Qualifications

• High School English teaching experience in grades 9-10 using US Common Core Standards (preferred).
• IB English teaching experience and training in either IB English A Language and Literature and/or IB English A Literature (required).
• Experience with competency based learning or standards-based learning (preferred).
• Solid conceptual and applied knowledge of current research and trends in curriculum, instruction, and assessment.
• Demonstrated experience collaborating with colleagues.
• A minimum of 2 years of teaching experience.
• High level of English proficiency required.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the annual Week Without Walls program
• Engage in the co-curricular program at Nido by advising a club or coaching an athletic team
• Serve as an Advisor for a small group of 8-12 high school students
• Collaborate with the English department to further develop and improve the Science curriculum- this includes participating in weekly curricular planning meetings with course-alike teaching partners
• Teach five sections of English courses
• Engage in the Nido community by promoting a positive, collaborative school culture
• Contribute to fostering the mission, vision, and values of Nido

Position Details

• Position Name:High School English Teacher
• Reports to: High School Principal
• Time commitment: Full-time

We are looking for a dedicated English teacher to join a strong English team. This teacher will be innovative and passionate and be experienced in teaching high school English at the IB English A Language and Literature and/or IB English A Literature courses. Additionally, this teacher will teach sections of Grade 9 and/or Grade 10 English. This teacher enjoys collaborating and working with a highly capable high school faculty.
