Job summary

Blacksmith Agency LLC is seeking a Generative AI Engineer to own and ship the internal automation roadmap. This builder role focuses on producing production systems on top of AI, not model training.

You will work directly with engineering and delivery leadership to convert a documented automation roadmap into shipped systems. Ideal candidates have 2+ years building production software with Python or Node.js and hands-on experience with LangChain, LangGraph, and related agent frameworks.

Qualifications

• 2+ years building production software with Python or Node.js.
• Hands-on experience with LangChain, LangGraph, CrewAI, AutoGen or similar agent frameworks.
• Proven API integration work with OpenAI or Anthropic (function calling, tool use, streaming).
• Strong understanding of REST APIs, webhooks and basic cloud deployment.
• English sufficient for async written work with a US-based team.

Responsibilities

• Own and ship internal automation roadmap, building production systems over AI foundations.
• Collaborate with engineering and delivery leadership to translate a documented roadmap into working systems.
• Build agentic workflows using LangChain, LangGraph or equivalent frameworks.
• Develop integrations with OpenAI/Anthropic APIs including tool usage and function calling.
• Create automation pipelines across tools like WordPress, Figma, Google Workspace and internal CMS.

About The Role

Blacksmith Agency is building an AI automation layer into every part of how we work. As Generative AI Engineer at Blacksmith, you own and ship our internal automation roadmap. This is a builder role, not a research role. You will not be training models, you will be building production systems on top of them. You work directly with engineering and delivery leadership to take a documented roadmap of automation workflows and turn them into shipped, working systems. This role is for someone who has already built things with LLMs and can show it.

What You Will Build

• Agentic workflows using LangChain, LangGraph or equivalent frameworks.
• Integrations with Anthropic and OpenAI APIs including tool use and function calling.

• Automation pipelines connecting WordPress, Figma, Google Workspace and our internal CMS.
• MCP server integrations as part of our broader AI stack.
