Job summary

Blacksmith Agency LLC is seeking an Automation Engineer to own and ship our internal automation roadmap. This builder role focuses on producing production systems on top of AI models, not training them.

You will work with LangChain, LangGraph, and OpenAI/Anthropic APIs to create agentic workflows and integrations across WordPress, Figma, and Google Workspace, while collaborating with leadership to deliver tangible automation across our design and development processes.

Qualifications

• 2+ years building production software with Python or Node.js.
• Hands-on experience with LangChain, LangGraph, CrewAI, AutoGen or similar agent frameworks.
• Proven API integration work with OpenAI or Anthropic (function calling, tool use, streaming).
• Strong understanding of REST APIs, webhooks and basic cloud deployment.

Responsibilities

• Build agentic workflows and automation pipelines.
• Integrate AI APIs and tools to ship working systems.
• Collaborate with engineering and delivery leadership to execute a documented automation roadmap.
• Connect internal tools (WordPress, Figma, Google Workspace) with our CMS and stack.

This is a builder role, not a research role. You will not be training models, you will be building production systems on top of them. You work directly with engineering and delivery leadership to take a documented roadmap of automation workflows and turn them into shipped, working systems. This role is for someone who has already built things with LLMs and can show it.

What You Will Build

• Agentic workflows using LangChain, LangGraph or equivalent frameworks.
• Integrations with Anthropic and OpenAI APIs including tool use and function calling.
• Internal tools that reduce manual hours across our design and development production process.
• Automation pipelines connecting WordPress, Figma, Google Workspace and our internal CMS.
• MCP server integrations as part of our broader AI stack.

What You Bring

• 2+ years building production software with Python or Node.js.
• Hands-on experience with LangChain, LangGraph, CrewAI, AutoGen or similar agent frameworks.
• Proven API integration work with OpenAI or Anthropic (function calling, tool use, streaming).
• Strong understanding of REST APIs, webhooks and basic cloud deployment.
• English sufficient for async written work with a US-based team.
