Insight Global partners with a leading global fintech organization to recruit a Senior Backend Software Engineer for building and modernizing a payments platform. You will design, implement, and operate scalable backend services across onboarding, payments, settlement, FX, and financial transactions.

The role involves collaboration with product, compliance, and operations, with a focus on reliability, architecture, and production readiness.

Competenze

• 6+ years of backend software engineering experience.
• Experience with cloud and AWS services.
• Payments, fintech, FX, or money movement experience.
• Microservices, event-driven architecture, and system design experience.
• Cloud experience required; AWS preferred.
• Daily use of AI development tools such as Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code, or similar.
• Product-focused mindset with strong communication skills.

• Experience with distributed systems and high-volume transaction processing.

About the Role

Insight Global's client is seeking a Senior Backend Software Engineer to play a key role in designing, building, and enhancing the next generation of its payments platform. This individual will contribute across the full software development lifecycle, from architecture and system design through production deployment and operational support. The role offers the opportunity to work closely with product, compliance, operations, and engineering leaders while developing highly scalable backend services that support payment processing, settlement, onboarding, and financial transactions. The ideal candidate is a technically strong engineer who enjoys solving complex problems, driving modernization efforts, mentoring others, and taking ownership of systems in production.

Responsibilities

• Microservices, event-driven architecture, and system design experience.
• Cloud experience required; AWS preferred.
• Daily use of AI development tools such as Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code, or similar.
• Product-focused mindset with strong communication skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.
• Experience with AWS services such as SQS, Lambda, ECS, DynamoDB, and S3.
• Experience with distributed systems and high-volume transaction processing.
