Job summary

Wesco is seeking a Technician - Data Center to support server and network hardware, perform maintenance, and troubleshoot issues in a fast-paced DC environment. You will engage with vendors, manage RMAs, and assist with installs, moves, and decommissions.

The role requires DC experience, familiarity with IPMI/logs, and strong communication. Travel 0–25% and a valid driver's license are expected; English fluency is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; IT degree preferred.
• 2 years in an enterprise data center environment.
• CCNA/CCNP certifications preferred.
• Experience troubleshooting server hardware and network connectivity.
• Knowledge of data cabling and patching.
• Fluent English; strong communication and organization.

Responsibilities

• Perform server and storage sweeps; collect IPMI data and logs.
• Diagnose connectivity issues; troubleshoot network transceivers and fiber signals.
• Open and coordinate vendor support cases (HPE, Dell, IX) and follow up on fixes.
• Coordinate with data center ops for break/fix logistics and vendor escorts.
• Manage RMAs for components like rPDUs, switches, and field replaceables.
• Provide hardware support for installs, moves, adds, changes; decommission equipment.
• Conduct regular equipment and facility inspections; manage inventory counts.
• Update cabling and materials documentation; monitor capacity (space/power/cooling).
• Follow incident/change management processes; report activity and improvements.
• Light travel between sites; perform other duties as assigned.
