Met T&S Ltd. is seeking a Welding Inspector in Concón, Chile. The ideal candidate will ensure that the welding processes and related tests comply with specifications. Responsibilities include witnessing tests and ensuring compliance with approved procedures. Candidates must have a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in oil & gas or industrial projects, and must be native Spanish speakers. The role requires strong communication and analytical skills. Note: Only applicants legally authorized to work in Chile will be considered.

Formación

• At least 3 years of relevant experience in oil & gas or industrial sector.
• Experience covering similar role in last three projects of comparable size.

Responsabilidades

• Verify that welded joints and tests are performed according to specifications.
• Witness and support the welding procedure qualification process.
• Check compliance of welding materials and machines with approved standards.

About theproject / Job summary

Welding Inspector verifies that welded joints,post-weld heat treatments and non-destructive tests are correctly performedaccording to the approved specifications prepared by the relevant engineeringdepartments and relevant approved Subcontractor’s documents (WeldingProcedure Specification_WPS_, Procedure Qualification Records_PQR, Post WeldHeat Treatment_PWHT_ and Non Destructive Examination_NDE Procedures).

Duties andresponsibilities

• To witness the welding coupon and destructivenon-destructive test execution on shop or at Laboratories forpreparation of Procedure Qualification Record (PQR)
• To support the Home office Welding Group duringcycle for the approval of Procedure Qualification Record (PQR), WeldingProcedure Specification (WPS) and PWHT procedure.
• To witness the Subcontractor Welder Qualificationprocess
• To check that welding material respects therequirements of the approved WPS
• To check that welding machines and ovens arecontinuously calibrated
• To check that shop and field welds are performed incompliance with PROJECT specifications and with approved WPS/PQR, NDEand PWHT Procedures, etc.
• To witness the execution of non-destructive tests,heat treatment and hardness test
• To check the execution of positive materialidentification test
• To grant that welding activities and the tests arerecorded by Subcontractors in the welding data base
• To check that all repairs are performed correctly,and non-destructive tests are regularly repeated;
• To obtain any necessary approval from Home OfficeWelding Group for deviation, as appropriate, to welding procedures andfor performing repairs requiring special procedures;
• To verify the adequacy of information on NDE Reports
• To verify that adequate and valid welder.

Experience

• Relevant experience in oil &gas, industrial sector, EPC projects and Refinery ;
• At least 3 years of experience inthis specific discipline;

Similar rolecovered in last three projects, of comparable size;

Skills and Abilities

• NativeSpanish speaker
• Excellent IT and analytical skills.
• Excellent communications,team-oriented and interpersonal skills.

Self-motivationand direction, with a strong bias toward timely performance and problemresolution.
