CATL Chile, the Chilean subsidiary of Contemporary Amperex Technology Co. Ltd. (CATL), seeks a Corporate Counsel to lead all legal matters for the Chilean entity and the South American Energy Storage business.

You will provide strategic direction, manage risk, draft and negotiate contracts (vendor, client, employment; EPC and sales structures), ensure regulatory compliance, oversee litigation, and mentor the internal legal team while coordinating with external counsel.

Formación

• Law degree and admission in Chile, Argentina or a LATAM jurisdiction.
• Ability to draft and negotiate sales and EPC contracts.
• Extensive experience (8+ years) in corporate law, with energy sector exposure.
• Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
• Strategic, commercially minded, with integrity and resilience.

Responsabilidades

• Provide executive legal counsel on governance, finance, marketing, HR, and operations.
• Identify, assess and manage legal risks; build compliant programs.
• Oversee drafting, review, and negotiation of all contracts, incl. vendor, client, employment; support EPC/sales structures.
• Develop and enforce governance and compliance policies; maintain corporate records.
• Strategize and oversee litigation; manage outside counsel as needed.
• Protect IP and collaborate with IP department; advise on expansion and product launches.
• Mentor the internal legal team and coordinate with external law firms and works council.

Job Summary

The Corporate Counsel serves as primarily the Chilean legal advisor, providing strategic direction and managing all legal aspects of the Chilean subsidiary and the South American Energy Storage business covering Argentina and Brazil to mitigate risk and support business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Legal Advisory: Provide expert counsel to executives and management on all legal matters, including corporate governance, finance, marketing, HR, and operations.
• Risk Management: Identify, assess, and manage legal risks, ensuring compliance with local and international laws and regulations. Ability to independently establish sustainable compliance programs for the company.
• Contract Management: Oversee the drafting, review, and negotiation of all company contracts, including vendor, client, employment, and supplier and sales agreements. In particular experience in supporting sales through sales contracts, and expanded integrator/EPC contract structures in the energy space is required.
• Compliance & Governance: Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure regulatory adherence and ethical conduct; manage corporate record-keeping.
• Litigation Management: Strategize and oversee all litigation, managing outside counsel and representing the company in court if necessary.
• Intellectual Property: Protect the company's IP, including patents, trademarks, and copyrights by working with the IP Department
• Strategic Development: Participate in executive decision-making, offering legal perspectives on new markets, product launches, and strategic initiatives.
• Team Leadership: Manage and mentor an internal legal team, and coordinate with external law firms. Work with works council representatives to drive unified aims of the company.

Qualifications & Skills

• Law degree and admission in Chile, Argentina or a LATAM jurisdiction
• Ability to draft and negotiate sales and EPC contracts
• Extensive experience (8+ years) in corporate law, with a broad understanding of various legal fields, including the energy field. Good mixture of private practice and in-house legal experience in the manufacturing sector preferred
• Strong leadership, exceptional communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to think strategically and commercially, aligning legal advice with business goals.
