NHS Lanarkshire is seeking an Advanced Practitioner Physiotherapist to lead the Surgical and Critical Care Physiotherapy Service at University Hospital Monklands. You will deliver high-quality, person-centred care and drive service improvement across multiple clinical areas.

The role also focuses on professional leadership, education of staff, and collaboration across disciplines to ensure evidence-based practice and safe, effective patient care.

Formación

• Registered Physiotherapist with HCPC registration.
• Masters level qualification or working towards it.
• Post-graduate expertise within speciality leading safety and efficiency.
• Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines within the speciality.
• A full UK/EU/EEA driving licence.

• Develop the specialist physiotherapy service in line with Divisional and National strategic direction.

The Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Surgical and Critical Care Physiotherapy Service at University Hospital Monklands as an Advanced Practitioner Physiotherapist. We welcome applications from individuals who can demonstrate the knowledge, skills and experience required to deliver high-quality, person-centred care and support continuous service improvement.

The Surgical and Critical Care team provides specialist physiotherapy assessment, treatment and rehabilitation across several clinical areas, including a 10-bedded Critical Care Unit, General Surgery, ENT and Urology services. The team also provides outpatient amputee rehabilitation, supporting patients throughout their recovery and rehabilitation journey.

This senior leadership role is integral to the development and delivery of the pan‑Lanarkshire Surgical and Critical Care Specialty Group priorities. The successful candidate will contribute to service innovation, quality improvement and workforce development, as well as supporting the education and training of physiotherapy staff and the wider multidisciplinary team. Working collaboratively across disciplines and sites, the post-holder will provide professional leadership, promote evidence-based practice and support the delivery of safe, effective and person-centred care across NHS Lanarkshire.

In This Key Role, You Will

• To be professionally and legally responsible and accountable for all aspects of the own professional activities.
• In conjunction with the care group lead, continually develop the specialist physiotherapy service in line with Divisional and National strategic direction, incorporating patient/public involvement.
• To take responsibility for the day-to-day management of the identified specialist service.
• Facilitate increased awareness of evidence-based practice within the service and assist the organisation and development of specialist postgraduate education/training of physiotherapists and other health care professionals working within the clinical speciality and other physiotherapy services.

What You'll Bring

• Registered Physiotherapist with valid HCPC Registration
• Educated to/working towards/operating at Masters Level
• Post graduate expertise within speciality / area of practice that demonstrates the required breadth of knowledge required to lead safety, effectively and efficiently.
• Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within the speciality.
• A driving licence is required; this must be a full UK/EU/EEA licence.
